Meet Michelle
Biography
Michelle Lowe Solis dedicated 36 years to public service at the Department of Defense, rising from intern at Brooks Air Force Base to senior executive at the Pentagon. She led thousands of people, managed billion-dollar budgets, and knows how to organize at scale. Today, she’s bringing that same experience home—strengthening the Bexar County Democratic Party so we can win in 2026 and deliver for Texas families.

Why I Serve
On January 6th, I saw firsthand how fragile our democracy is—and I knew I couldn’t stay on the sidelines. I retired from the Department of Defense and came home to Texas to fight full-time for our democracy. Texans deserve leaders who put families before political stunts, and I’m committed to building a Democratic Party that’s organized, strong, and ready to win.

​Winning starts at the ground level. That’s why I’m committed to recruiting, supporting, and celebrating our precinct chairs—the backbone of our party. I’ll listen, I’ll amplify your voice, and I’ll keep our strategy transparent so every Democrat knows we’re in this fight together.

Accomplishments
Increased precinct chairs – boots on the ground to get out the vote by more than 30%
Provided opportunities to engage and educate the public:
  • Bus ride to Opening Day at the Texas Legislature – meeting with Texas House and Senate representatives
  • Hosted a candidate forum for the candidates running for the Texas Democratic State Chair
  • Hosted a candidate forum for the Democratic candidates running for mayor
  • Co-hosted a People’s Town Hall with other counties in Congressional District 21
Provided opportunities for community building
  • Co-hosted numerous protests with 50501/SATX Indivisible
  • Hosts weekly opportunities to meet with candidates and elected officials
  • Co-hosted a No Kings Declaration reading – a Fourth of July weekend event to remind about the contract between the government and the people
Helping others
  • Hosted a donation drop-off for the victims of the Kerr County flood
  • Developed a Know Your Rights information in our office and online
  • Developed an online Federal Worker resource guide.
  • Raised $8,200 to help a Bexar delegation member with quorum break
Organizing to Win
  • Helped ensure that Mayor Jones beat out Greg Abbott’s man, Rolando Pablos
  • Established partnership with Blue Texas – a collaboration between the Texas Majority PAC and the Texas Democratic Party – to establish a ground game in Bexar County
  • Co-hosting weekly in-person phone banks to clean up the database for November 2026
  • Fielding an extremely active social media team that develops and shares original content – defining Republicans by highlighting what they do and reminding people that Democrats are the ones fighting for the working class

Texans have lived through too many preventable tragedies—Harvey, Uri, Uvalde, and now the Hill Country floods. Each time, Republican leaders offer “Texas tough” talk but no real solutions. Meanwhile, they’re busy carving out power for themselves instead of serving our families. That’s why I ran in 2024, and why I focused on five clear priorities as your chair. Here’s what we’ve accomplished—and why I’m asking for your support again.
  • Stronger Ground Game – I’ve worked to recruit and support precinct chairs, because filling every seat means more boots on the ground to win elections.
  • Financial Stability – I’ve focused on making the party solvent—bringing in sustaining dollars to match our monthly costs and building long-term strength.
  • Defining Republicans, Promoting Democrats – For 30 years, Republicans have failed Texans. I’ve led efforts to call them out while reminding voters of what Democrats deliver—healthcare, schools, Social Security, Medicare, voting rights, and more.
  • Regional Partnerships – I’ve built coalitions with surrounding counties, because our shared challenges—and shared media markets—make us stronger when we work together.
  • Visible Leadership – I’ve kept our party and myself out front, communicating consistently and showing that Democrats are doing the work, not just talking about it.
